Stitches

On Wednesday we got a call from Taylor's teacher saying that she had fallen at recess and cut her head. Agh! Luckily Jeremy was home, because I don't do well with that kind of stuff. So we picked Taylor up from school and headed to the emergency room that Jeremy works at. He had one of the doctors look at it and sure enough it needed stitches. The doctor was awesome though and told us to take her to fast track and he'd come stitch her. Taylor enjoys telling everyone how the doctor did it for free. There are definitely benefits to Jeremys job. Anyways, she only needed 2 stitches and the cut is close to her hairline so the scar won't show too much. I'm grateful for a wonderful husband that was able to be the nurse during this whole thing. Taylor was really scared of getting stitches, but having her Daddy there made a huge difference.

Where is Spring?

This was the scene out my back door this afternoon. I know that it is still technically winter, but can't spring come just a bit sooner. Don't get me wrong, I like snow, but by the end of January I am ready for it to be gone. I am anxious for some warmer weather.

Jumpin Jacks

Taylor and her friend Olivia went to Jumpin Jacks today. They had so much fun running around, jumping, and sliding. I wasn't able to get many pictures of them because they were too busy playing, but at least I got a few cute ones.

Help

I am creating a blog for our Young Women's program and I am having trouble coming up with a good name for the blog. Does anyone have any ideas?

Homemade gifts

I just wanted to post some pictures of the Christmas gifts Jeremy made this year. I think he is a very talented woodworker.

Jeremy made this train for his dad. No, it was not a kit. He handmade all of the pieces except the wheels and a few dowels.

This the the treasure chest he made for Taylor. She loves it because she can store all her special treasures it it and lock it up.

Christmas

We had such a wonderful Christmas. Jeremy was fortunate to have the 24th-26th off of work and so we were able to spend the holiday together as a family. As always, watching Taylor was one of the funnest parts of Christmas. Here are a few pictures.

This is the best family picture we could get. Taylor just would not cooperate and kept closing her eyes right as the picture was snapped. This is the only one with her eyes open.

What a wonderful day!

We had such a great day yesterday. It started off by Taylor's class having a Luau. The kids had made placemats and menus and they got be our waiters. After bringing food to the parents the kids sat down and ate with us. After eating they performed a couple of song/dances which were way cute. It is so fun to watch Taylor do all these big kid things. I know that she is growing up but she will always be my baby girl.

After the Luau we headed to Salt Lake. Our first stop was to the Clark Planetarium. If you haven't been there you should check it out. It is free and there are some fun things for the kids to see and do.

After the planetarium we went to see the Joseph Smith movie. I love this movie. It makes Joseph Smith more real to me. For me, it is much more powerful to see the events of his life then it is to read about them. He truly was an amazing prophet. He had to endure so many horrific things yet he never strayed from what he knew to be true. I am grateful for the sacrifices he made in order to restore the gospel to the earth. I don't know what I would do without the guidance the gospel gives me in my life.

After the movie, we walked over to Temple Square to see the Christmas lights. Of course we went into the visitors center and many other buildings to warm up in between looking at lights. Taylor loves seeing the statue of Christ and she always points out the marks in his hands and feet. We went into the assembly hall just as a choir was getting ready to perform. We decided to listen to a few songs while we warmed up. We ended up staying for the whole thing because Taylor was enjoying the music so much. It amazes me how a child at such a young age can appreciate listening to songs about our Savior.

We had a great day spending time together and enjoying the wonders of the season.
