Camping

We went camping this week with the Killpack family at Mirror Lake. Jeremy went up with his parents on Tuesday and Taylor and I went up Wednesday. I'm not much of a camper. I love the mountains, but at the end of the day I want to come home to a shower and my own bed. So I came home on Friday. Two nights of terrible sleep is plenty for me. Taylor had a blast camping and exploring so she begged to stay an extra night with her dad. I had fun taking pictures while we were camping. I tried to narrow it down to my favorites, but it was hard.

I love this picture because it is just a classic Taylor face. She was upset at me for taking so many pictures and she was not about to smile for me to take another one.

Stewart Falls

Yesterday Taylor and I went hiking with my mom. We went to Stewart Falls up Provo Canyon. It was a fairly easy 2 miles to the beautiful waterfall. Here are some pics from our hike.

Lake Blanch

This is a late post, but I've been at girls camp this week, which was a blast. So anyways, July 2nd we went hiking with my sis in-law and my father in-law to Lake Blanch up Big Cottonwood Canyon. It was a bit strenuous and I worried about Taylor making the 6 mile hike, but we let her set the pace and she did really well. I'm glad she is a good little hiker. The hike was beautiful and one I would definitely recommend to others. We had the misfortune of being rained on the entire 3 miles down, but hey, at least there wasn't any lightning this time.

Swimming Fun

Taylor has been enjoying her pool. It has been so hot, at least we think it is really hot. It is nice for her to be able to have some place to cool down.

Hiking

Yesterday Taylor and I went hiking to some hot pots with Aunt Jessica and Sofi. When we started out on the hike the sun was shining. As we got a little more then half way up a storm rolled in and we had to take cover. Luckily there were a lot of trees and some boulders to hide next to. My poor Taylor was so scared of the lightning and the really loud thunder. I felt so bad. By the time the rain stopped we were pretty wet and Taylor was freezing. We did not go prepared for the rain. I know, I should have listened to the weather forecast that called for rain, but when are they ever right. Next time I will do better at being prepared. So anyways, we were able to finish our hike up to the hot pots where Taylor was able to get warmed up and play for a few. Then the dark clouds started rolling in again and we decided we'd better head back. It rained on us the whole way down, but at least there wasn't any lightning. Other then being caught in a storm, I had a great time on our hike. It was beautiful and I would much rather hike in the rain then in the hot sun.

The Grotto

On Saturday we decided to take the rare opportunity of having Jeremy home on a weekend and hiked to the Grotto up Payson Canyon. It is actually more like a short walk, being that it is only .3 miles long. We had a good time though. At the end is a little waterfall with a pool at the bottom that you can play in. Here are a few pictures.

Kindergarten Graduation

Taylor had her graduation on Friday. I can't believe my baby is already out of kindergarten. Can't time slow down just a little? I'm really struggling with this whole growing up business. Anyways, her graduation was a lot of fun to watch. They sang a bunch of cute songs and they got little diploma things. Here are some pictures of her big day.

I'm excited to have Taylor out of school for the summer, although she isn't happy about it. She wants to go to school during the summer. How long do you think that will last? I always loved summer vacation.
