Taylor and her friend Olivia went to Jumpin Jacks today. They had so much fun running around, jumping, and sliding. I wasn't able to get many pictures of them because they were too busy playing, but at least I got a few cute ones.
I am creating a blog for our Young Women's program and I am having trouble coming up with a good name for the blog. Does anyone have any ideas?
I just wanted to post some pictures of the Christmas gifts Jeremy made this year. I think he is a very talented woodworker.
Jeremy made this train for his dad. No, it was not a kit. He handmade all of the pieces except the wheels and a few dowels.
This the the treasure chest he made for Taylor. She loves it because she can store all her special treasures it it and lock it up.We had such a wonderful Christmas. Jeremy was fortunate to have the 24th-26th off of work and so we were able to spend the holiday together as a family. As always, watching Taylor was one of the funnest parts of Christmas. After the planetarium we went to see the Joseph Smith movie. I love this movie. It makes Joseph Smith more real to me. For me, it is much more powerful to see the events of his life then it is to read about them. He truly was an amazing prophet. He had to endure so many horrific things yet he never strayed from what he knew to be true. I am grateful for the sacrifices he made in order to restore the gospel to the earth. I don't know what I would do without the guidance the gospel gives me in my life.
After the movie, we walked over to Temple Square to see the Christmas lights. Of course we went into the visitors center and many other buildings to warm up in between looking at lights. Taylor loves seeing the statue of Christ and she always points out the marks in his hands and feet. We went into the assembly hall just as a choir was getting ready to perform. We decided to listen to a few songs while we warmed up. We ended up staying for the whole thing because Taylor was enjoying the music so much. It amazes me how a child at such a young age can appreciate listening to songs about our Savior.
We had a great day spending time together and enjoying the wonders of the season.
My internet hasn't been working properly the past 2 weeks so I haven't been able to post. Sorry Brittany. I know you wanted an update so here it is.
Our Thanksgiving was pretty typical. We went to Jeremy's parents house and stuffed ourselves full of food. I'm not a huge fan of Thanksgiving food, like turkey, yams, cranberry sauce, and such. But I do love mashed potatoes and rolls so I had plenty of those. I wish I didn't love all the wrong foods. Anyways, Jeremy had to work at 5 pm so he dropped me and Taylor off at my mom's house where of course we had more food and visited with family. All in all it was a good day. Taylor and I spent the night at my mom's and went shopping the next day. Don't worry, we didn't go out until 10:30. I am not one of those crazy people that stands in huge lines in the wee hours of the morning. Sorry, I can't say if I got any good deals.
I have much to be thankful for this year. I have a wonderful husband that sacrifices so much of himself for our family. He is an amazing man and he makes me incredibly happy. I also have a beautiful daughter that brings me so much joy. I can't imagine life without her. I am thankful for the gospel and the knowledge that I can be with my family for eternity. I am thankful for my mom who is my best friend. I don't know what I would do without her. I am thankful that Jeremy has a good, stable job. I am thankful for my home and the yard that comes with it. These are just a few of the many things that I am thankful for. I have indeed been very blessed.
Just as a side note, we will be coming to Lehi on Sunday to see the Arnells bless their baby. We can't wait to see all of you again.
Taylor turned 6 yesterday. I can't believe how quickly she is growing up. I wish time would slow down so I could have her stay little a bit longer. She is such a wonderful little girl and we love her so much. She had a great and busy birthday. She went to school in the morning, then came home and opened the much anticipated presents. After, we went to Brick Oven for lunch and then to the movies to see High School Musical 3. Taylor loves the HSM series. In the evening her grandparents came over and she got to open more presents. Jeremy and I gave Taylor a big girl scooter so now we can get rid of her 3-wheeled "baby" scooter. She has been riding her new scooter all over the house thinking she is so cool. She hasn't taken it outside yet because then she can't bring it back inside. We will have to work on that one.
We also gave her some bracelets which as you can tell from the picture she loved
Her Grandpa gave her the High School Musical DVD's. I love how excited she got when saw what the present was.
